About The Artist

When I was a little girl I used to love staying at my granny’s house. She lived in a little mid terrace cottage at the top of a hill surrounded by countryside, every day was spent baking in the kitchen with the aga and washing the crockery in the butler sink.

Growing veg in the garden, it was a wonderful time. The house didn’t have a bathroom so bath time was an old metal bath with hot water from a saucepan and pulled in front of the log fire. There was always a thick slab of butter in the butter dish on the hearth slowly melting for some delicious toast and jam for supper, then off to sleep in a big metal bed all tucked in with layers of blankets and eiderdown.

Happy days of amazing memories with my grandparents in that little cottage, I’ll never forgot. I grew up, but in memory of them the mouse houses were born.
